KIRNER needle holder plates & hard metal rasps with ground-in toothing

ABOUT US

KIRNER is a third-generation family business, founded in 1919 by Anton Kirner. Anton Kirner developed and manufactured the tachograph and other recording and control devices in series production — the predecessors of today’s digital tachographs and time-recording systems. At that time, the company also produced small machines for cutting gear teeth in watch wheels and later complete production systems for dental burs. After the Second World War, the company specialized in the development and construction of machines for grinding tooth profiles into form cutters and rotary cutters.

Around 70 years ago, the production of needle holder inserts for scissors and forceps used in surgical instruments was added to the company’s portfolio. Since 1 January 2015, KIRNER Nadelhalterplatten GmbH has operated as an independent company.

Using specialized machines, we manufacture tungsten carbide needle holder inserts and rasps with precision-ground serrations. These machines enable us to grind serrations quickly and accurately into tungsten carbide inserts and rasps in various sizes and shapes. This allows us to respond to our customers’ individual requirements in the best possible way.

Hard metal sorts

Cemented carbides are composite materials made from metallic hard materials and a binding metal.

KIRNER needle holder inserts and rasps are available in two different carbide grades: K40 and BN 12.

These two grades are produced, among other things, by using different binding metals, such as cobalt or nickel.
